POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful AISC teaching assistants relish the following challenges as part of their work as educators:

  1. Provide in-class and individual support to teachers and students using educational technology tools.
  2. Assist in overseeing the Integration Studio to support student and faculty use of technology resources.
  3. Provide support for specific initiatives like the "Raptor Report," helping teachers and students create and manage digital content.
  4. Assist in supervising digital citizenship activities to foster responsible use of digital tools and platforms among students.
  5. Collaborate with the EdTech Team to facilitate training sessions for faculty.
  6. Assist the EdTech Team in implementing major initiatives such as data management, artificial intelligence integration, and the development of AI-related educational content.
  7. Act as a first responder for technology-related issues in classrooms, helping teachers troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with software and devices.
  8. Stay informed about new and emerging edtech tools and provide insights on potential classroom applications.
  9. Professional Growth: This position comes with an expectation to develop key EdTech Integration skills, seek out exposure to a wide range of tools and practices, and engage with ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

 

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

 

Successful AISC teaching assistants in technology integration are lifelong learners. They demonstrate specific knowledge and skills and can share examples of their growth in the following areas:

  1. Use classroom technology tools to enhance learning (e.g., Google Workspace, iPads, Seesaw, PearDeck).
  2. Understand student developmental needs to integrate technology effectively.
  3. Apply behavior management techniques in-person and online.
  4. Communicate technology concepts clearly to students and colleagues.
  5. Use technology to support lessons, engage students, and foster digital literacy.
  6. Participate in school initiatives, community events, and tech programs.
  7. Manage time and tasks efficiently in classroom and tech projects.
  8. Engage students in tech-based small group or individual activities.

AISC teachers are expected to demonstrate effectiveness and growth in:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

AISC seeks teachers with appropriate experiences that have helped them develop their knowledge, skills, and talents:

  1. Experience working with children, with a desire to grow in a K-12 setting.
  2. Eager to develop skills in educational technology, confident in supporting teachers and students.
  3. Possess basic certifications like Google Educator Level 1, Apple Teacher, or equivalent.
  4. Strong interest in educational technology and a desire to grow in this area.
